Invisible Hand
Data & instillation work (2020)Exhibited at The Transformer Space on the Gold Coast

“Invisible Hand” is a COVID Safe interactive data visualisation piece currently on exhibit and the Transformer Space on the Gold Coast.
By hovering your hand over certain months of the Australian Sock Exchange 200 from 2020, you can hear what happened from various audio clips. This way, someone could wave their hand over the project and have a greater understanding of stock market data in a more accesible way.
The title, “Invisible Hand” describes the unintended social benefits of an individual's self-interested actions, a concept that was first introduced by Adam Smith in The Theory of Moral Sentiments, written in 1759.
The idea of the project comes from a musical instrument known as the theremin.
